Pamper Yourself with Professional Hair and Makeup!
One thing we've learned is that ALL brides are beautiful on their wedding day. There's nothing more flattering than the look of true love! No matter how low-maintenance you may be, though, you should still consider hiring professional hair and makeup artists to help you look your absolute best on the big day. Experienced hair and makeup people know just how to emphasize your very best features so you're ready for your closeup at picture time!
See the Light!
If you're getting married outdoors, make sure you visit your venue at the exact time you've planned your ceremony to start so you can see how the light falls around where you plan to stand. Bring along a friend or your fiance and look at the light on their face. If they're squinting because the sun is in their eyes, then they'll most likely be squinting in the ceremony photos, too. If their face has spotty shadows from dappled light through the trees, you might think about moving to a spot with more even light. Remember ... while we have lots of experience in lots of different lighting conditions, we can only photograph what's really there! A squinty groom in person is a squinty groom in photos. By checking out the light before your big day, you give yourself the chance to make minor changes that could make a world of difference for your photographs!
Think Outside the Box!
Instead of a traditional sign in book, how about setting up a photo booth with a chalkboard inside for family and friends to take a picture with their message? Instead of chairs, why not set up bales of hay with vintage quilts tossed over them? Instead of white shoes, how about hot pink? Groomsmen in polka dot bowties?!? Why not!? The more you go out of your way to make your wedding day original, the better your photos will be! Be creative and have a blast!
Consider Doing a "First Look"
You've probably already given this some thought and maybe you've already agreed to it, but just in case you aren't convinced yet ... consider doing a first look! We absolutely love having extra time before the ceremony to capture amazing images of you and your fiance and you'll love the up-close, emotional photos of you seeing each other for the first time. Don't worry about old superstitions! Toss em out the window and lets spend some time capturing images you'll cherish forever. Then, after the ceremony you can party the night away, with no delay!
